About Me
- Name: Kristal
- Location: Berlin, Germany
In August of 2006, I left my job and headed off on a 2-month long backpacking tour through Europe. In the course of my travels, I came to Berlin and fell madly in love with the city. Like any true love story, it altered my destiny and I moved here just in time for the cold, rainy winter of 2006/7. Having made it through that, I find myself happier in this city every day, meeting wonderful people and experiencing a new way of life - and often new ways of cooking as well! Berlin's incredible blends of cultures has given me many new ideas and tastes to experiment with. In addition to that, I realized in the beginning of this year that some life-long allergies were due to gluten-intolerance. I don't have Celiac's disease, so I can still have trace amounts of gluten without problems. But I've essentially eliminated it from my diet at this point - a challenge for someone who loves to bake as much as I do! These recipes are all my own creations, unless I've noted otherwise. I try to keep them simple, with ingredients that are easily available to everyone, whether you eat gluten-free or not. I hope you enjoy the recipes, the food, and the stories that have inspired them.
